# Bespoke Python

**What we do**

- Bespoke Python designs and delivers tailor-made Python training for professionals and their teams.
- Every training is designed around the client's project. The programs published on this site are examples of what clients asked for, not a fixed catalogue.
- Usual subjects: web development, data analysis, AI and machine learning, scripting and automation.
- No level and no subject is excluded on principle: from people who have never written code to experts in another language, it is decided case by case.

**Who trains you**

- Kevin Samuel, Python development expert and trainer. Every training is delivered by him in person; nothing is subcontracted.
- He has worked with Python professionally since 2004 and has trained professionals since 2006.
- Clients include the European Space Agency, Safran, the European Investment Bank, Monext, Pro BTP, the French Ministry of the Interior, the French Ministry of Education and the Mercantour National Park.

**Three past trainings**

- Safran: 4 Java programmers, on site, 3 days. They had to build a testbed system for credit card chips. The training focused on scripting, automation and reporting, and they were up to speed by the end of it.
- European Space Agency: 6 C experts, on site, 3 days. A direct translation of their C skills into Python skills, with no padding: they knew exactly what they wanted. It required passing a background check and working in a high-security environment.
- Mercantour National Park: 3 beginners with no coding experience, 3 days. They needed to become autonomous in editing the code of the GeoNature project. Afterwards they could make the changes they wanted, and better understood their exchanges with third parties when requesting larger modifications.

**When this is not the right service**

- If you need standardised courses delivered in batches, low-cost training, large groups (20 participants or more), a certification, or training with as little human interaction as possible.
- A large training organisation will serve you better then: one that can carry a heavy regulatory and administrative load, schedule many sessions and guarantee many seats.

**Formats and languages**

- On site, on any continent, or remote.
- On site includes places trainers do not usually go: hard to reach, or under heavy constraints.
- Delivered in English or in French.
- Remote sessions are possible in any time zone.
- Groups of up to 12 people on site, and up to 6 remote.
- A session lasts from 1 to 30 days. The shortest booking depends on the continent and is listed with the prices.
- A training day is 7 hours. The days of a session can be spread out instead of consecutive; this is decided case by case.
- Usual lead time between first contact and the first training day: 2 weeks to 2 months.
- For on-site sessions the client provides the room, the projector and the machines; we can supply them at extra cost.
- On request we sign a non-disclosure agreement, work on the client's real code and data, and accept other constraints: background checks, special security procedures or sites, dedicated hardware. Legal arrangements are discussed beforehand, case by case.
- Participants keep the course materials and the code. A follow-up can be arranged after a period agreed together.

**Prices**

- Day rates are in euros, excluding VAT. They depend on the continent and on whether the session is on site or remote.
- The day rate is per session, not per participant: it is the same whatever the size of the group.
- On-site rates include travel and accommodation.
- Designing the custom program is free: it is not billed on top of the training days.
- There are no discounts.
- For a need shorter than a day, remote consulting is billed by the hour: €400 per hour excluding VAT, remote only.
- Europe: €1500 per day remote, €2000 per day on site, shortest booking 1 day
- North America: €2000 per day remote, €3000 per day on site, shortest booking 3 days
- Africa: €2000 per day remote, €3000 per day on site, shortest booking 3 days
- Asia: €2000 per day remote, €3500 per day on site, shortest booking 3 days
- South America: €2000 per day remote, €3500 per day on site, shortest booking 5 days
- Oceania: €2000 per day remote, €3500 per day on site, shortest booking 5 days

**How it works**

- Request a call on the contact page: leave a phone number and, if you wish, a note about your project. We call you back to design the training around it.
- Or write to contact@bespokepython.com.
- The first call is short: we discuss your situation and agree on a time for a longer conversation, in which you take us through your needs and constraints.
- We then build the training program together, day by day. If you wish, the trainer calls each participant to refine it according to their level, their feedback and their time.
- You receive the final program, and we settle the logistics: dates, location, hardware and software.
- All of this is free. Then comes the quote, with a retainer of 10%.
- Payment is by bank transfer. The invoice is sent right after the training and is payable within 30 days.
- A session can be rescheduled once, against an additional retainer.

**For French companies**

- Bespoke Python is not Qualiopi certified: the training cannot be funded by an OPCO or through the CPF.
- Training activity declaration registered under number 93 06 11519 06 with the prefect of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. This registration does not amount to approval by the State.
- A training agreement (convention de formation), attendance sheets and a certificate of completion are provided on request.
